am I getting this right? You set up an amp tone in the editor but when you use it live the settings revert to WISIWIG?????

If so you can't change amps on the fly!

If i'M wrong (I hope I am) then the unit should have an LED that flashes so when you turn a knob it flashes when you get to the preset position.

I wish that's how it will work. But it's been described as WYSIWYG since its announcement, and that response is a clear confirmation. Which means it won't make for a good live rig unless you're using it just for one preset all show/set. Ain't nobody got time to tweak and EQ the knobs on the fly!

Similarly, I'm wondering if the editor will let you change the function of the foot switches, or are they only usable as Boost and Bypass (according to their labels).

Atomic is a weird company. They give a release date that they obviously never expected to meet (given the fact that the product has never been listed on their website). They then ignore all questions regarding it's availability. And when people start mentioning customer service issues, they write a single post claiming they have hired someone to help with issues and answer questions on the forums. Yet there has been no additional dialogue and no questions answered since. It makes you wonder who they actually hired or if they hired anyone at all.

Hey everybody guess what. There is not anymore news on the AFB than there was a month ago. Yet this thread meanders all over the place so far off topic as to be meaningless. Everytime it pops up to the top i think there might be an anouncement about the release of the AFB only to find a discussion about how tom runs atomic or whatever. Im not telling anybody what to do but it would be cool to start new topics about these side issues and even a new topic when somebody has actually new news about the amplifirebox. In taking my own advice i wont be back to this thread to read the yeas and nays. Comme tu ├ętais.

Continue to sigh. A week later and still no sign -- either here or on their Facebook page.

    (sigh)

The channel switching is an unexpected bonus, and it's looking ever more likely as my new "on the go" and backup rig :)

The ability to switch channels/patches via footswitch instantly turns this from being a practice toy to a potential giggable unit for me. Even if it only toggles between two different patches. The only downside is that I'm guessing the amp settings/knobs are still WYSIWYG, so you may have to probably compromise on tone to make the same knob positions work for multiple amps...
