Yep, I've tried them ..........................
Hi there! Livio from Choptones here.
If you've got any questions feel free to ask!
Here's the demo of our already available packs ...many more to come
With my guitar, they clip a lot, I had to tweak it a lot. They are not bad at all, I have to play more though
My experience has been exactly the same. They clip all three outputs at under 20% on the AA level knob. However they sound good so it didn't stop me buying their second pack too.
I'm hoping to gig them soon, and I'll feed back afterwards.
I wonder why the clipping, in the demo they use loud pickups. I have a Petrucci Illuminator, not THAT loud
I was using active pickups but I'm now using a Tonerider AC2 in the bridge which is a vintage paf style low ouput humbucker and they still clip a low level.
They just need levelling correctly, in my opinion this is mainly due to the presets running the level in the boost block wide open (+12dB from memory). However they do sound very good.
Post #8 from Jay Mitchell in this link https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/gain-staging-my-presets-correctly.1700280/ is usually quoted here as the best practice approach for the Amplifire.
