    Hi guys,

I just bought the Ampli-Firebox and I'm very pleased with its possibilities.

I am experimenting with some Ownhammer cabs that I bought previously and, I haven't found a way to got back to the stock cabs in the editor. I want to be able to compare the tones.

How do I do that? I guess the answer is right in my face but, I can't see it...

    Thanks.

    Dimitri

The answer is not in front of your face and it's a great question. The only way I would know how is to reload that individual preset from scratch and then manually change all the settings to what you just had with the Ownhammer cab. The only way really you could compare is by recording them or otherwise you're just dealing with memory. ........ OOh, just thought of another way and that could be: (Although someone will correct me if I'm wrong!) : Say you exported all your presets to save them, but have overwritten preset 1 with the Ownhammer cab version.. . . Well save that, and then just import the original preset into preset2 and then toggle back and forth to compare them

I'd like to read other posts on this too, but there's some off-the-cuff input from me. Best of luck. Eric

No. The AmpliFirebox does not work the same as the AmpliFire when it comes to CAB IR files.
For now, all you can do is set the unit back to factory settings and export each of the 9 presets which contain the CAB IR files.
Then you can reload the preset when needed.

The SYSTEM RESTORE file can be downloaded from the bottom of this page:
    http://atomicamps.com/amplifirebox/
You should go to FILE and export any presets that you've made for yourself first so they are not lost.
Then go to FILE-RETORE and point to that downloaded System Restore file.

Since you said "for now" I am hoping that this implies a change in the future, perhaps with a new firmware update that contains modulation effects? :)

I just got my amplifirerbox. Loaded the firmware. Messed with the amps. Then wanted to do factory reset back to original preset amps. downloaded restore file. from Atomic website.

Here's the problem: Somehow I clicked on :"Window Media Player" as the program that will open up this FBU extension (factory reset) file. Now every time I try to open the FBU/restore file and attempt to do a factory reset, Windows Media player opens up its program, and does not open the restore zip file, thus preventing me from opening/using the factory reset file. I cannot open the zip file really and do a factory reset. Help!

    email me at isaiah4031@bignetnorth.net please

    Thank You

Hold down the shift key, and right click on the file. Choose "Open With", change the program to open it with.

The one complaint I have is how they’ve handled the stock cabs. Overall the box is brilliant. Trying to compare different stock cabs is a major hassle. Living with it, but hoping it gets fixed soon. :)
