i have a fender stratocaster with pure single coil pickups (no stacked but with reversed middle pup). when i play higher gain amp model like HBE, Hot Brit, 5051 etc, there's noise. but all my life, i never played with noise gate before. i'm a pedal guy before this. can i know what is the BASIC setting that i can start with?

This is what I use for everything. UV777BK, SV5470A and EBMM 5 string Bongo bass. I don't ever have to **** with it at all for any reason. Hope it helps you out, dude. Go with the -52 and if it cuts off WANTED sound for you, then raise it up until you dig it:

You can select the global settings or a unique preset setting per preset.
