Just play what I got. :)

AA3 and AA12 have both worked great since the day I got them and will continue to do so. Just like my tube amps. And pedals. And speakers/cabs. I still have what I bought, and it still works great. What's not to like about that?

I may do that, and see if it makes me a better guitar player. :)

fine as long as the rest of us get updates when (and if-which i doubt at this point given atomic's state) they come out

The products work as intended and don't need any updates. Sure new features and tweaks would be nice, but they certainly aren't needed. let it go. Move on.

if these products didn't need any updates then atomic wouldnt be literally the only manufacturer who doesnt release updates. If you dont like updates you are free to not install them if and when they come out. You were also once in favor of updates (guess when it just suited your needs).

Yeah, I wasn't trying to start an argument. I forgot that many people on the internet have no sense of humor.

Side note: I paid $499 new from Atomic for my AA12. That's about 1/3 the price of Helix. About 1/4 the price of Kemper and 1/5 the price of Axe. Many people say it sounds as good as any of them. Most say it's at least very close. So, I look at it this way... I I drop $3K for a digital device, it freaking BETTER sound phenomenal, because my Archon, Bogner and several other amps I've had sure do. And it better do EVERYTHING because with a few hundred worth of pedals, so do my amps, and it better offer upgrades because I can change my pedals, speakers or anything else for $100-200 and change things any way I want. But for $500 I have a device that does a whole bunch of things REALLY well and is way smaller than my pedalboard for my tube amps. For that it already does, if they never do another update, I've got my $500 worth already... and it's still working just fine. ;)

I think what niggles users the most is that atomic have recognised a couple of bugs, albeit minor ones, and that any company with an interest in maintaining its PR would fix these at the very least. That in itself is an indicator of the state of affairs, I believe.
At least being aware of these “bugs” enables us to work with and around them and get on with making music, which is the ultimate aim.

I needed to upgrade from my AFB for more fx and routing abilities. I went ahead and got an FM3 for 999.00. I would of stayed with atomic, but the price difference is worth new tech and a company that's always in development

Aside from legit bug fixes, many companies use "updates" to increase the perception of value. They purposely roll out small stuff in regular intervals to make you think it's adding value, but is it?

It's long past time (2 years) to address some of the easily-addressed issues and bugs already.
These and several other smaller tweaks would be super easy to implement on the firmware and also show the community that the product hasn't been abandoned.

Competition is catching up and eventually even chinese brands will be able to compete soundwise if not already.

    New firmware announced!

Bug fixes, polyphonic pitch shifting, simple effects mode. Mesa Mark amps remodelled, new reverb modes.....

Coming in 2025. Maybe. Check back here often.
