That sounds incredible!!!! Splawns are KILLER amps. I need one badly.

If ANY modeler sounded that good, I'd sell a kidney to buy it. I had a band I used to go see regularly and the lead guitarist had a Splawn and I stood 10-25 feet in front of that thing at shows numerous times. Just awesome tone. He left the band unexpectedly and I never asked him which model it was, but holy crap did it sound great.

I have made presets very close to this sound with with my Headrush Pedalboard and with my HX Stomp. Actually, I have a cheap pair of Samson SR850 headphones and it sounds close through those but not as middy through my monitors or FRFR. The headphones must exaggerate the sound a bit. It is close enough that I am happy. I'm just hoping Jace's link above gets me there quick. I love that sound.

On the topic of headphones.. what are the best headphones to use with the AA6?

Jace, they both sounded great but the Plexi was a little closer.

I've been working a Plexi preset. Let me see if I think it's ready and I'll try to post it in a day or so.

I originally posted this question before I received my AA6. Having had it for a couple of weeks I have to say there are a couple of default presets that come very close on their own. The AA6 sounds so much better than any modeler I've ever heard when it comes to Marshall tones of all kinds. I'm sure this is probably true for the other amps as well but I am a Marshall guy and am only familiar with these types of tones.

This thing sounds so good and tube-like it still blows my mind every time I play it.

What do you all think Splawn does on his mods to get these tones? Seems to me he is adding mids and taking out treble?

I got side tracked as I was developing presets for 3 different songs I have to play live. But when I stopped, I just hadn't quite got what I wanted when I tried to tune the preset at volume. I thought I had it at lower volumes but when I turned it up, it still wasn't quite ready. I'll work on it again for sure, once I get these three performances behind me.
