I still dont have a board setup ............trying to rig up something with my AFB but usually drag my A12 with Wireless and two exp's, toss it on the floor at my local church gig..... trying to get something setup and just leave it there!

Nothing shiny but working absolutely great for all I'm doing. Case is built like a tank, will probably survive a nuclear war - and hopefully the local crew guys throwing it into the truck, too.

Signal flow (in case anyone's interested):
    Loop 1: Compressor
    Loop 2: Drives and gate
    Loop 3: AFB
Loop 4: EQ to balance sounds without drives and regain some highs
Loop 5: Lead EQ (boosts the mids and volume a bit)
    Loop 6: G3

I'm always using the compressor and lead EQ in combination. Works just as well for both clean and driven sounds.
No delay/reverb spillover but I noticed that for live it's really not that important, unless I use tons of those, which is rare - and in that case I just keep them on or wait a bit until I switch.

Not seen on pic: Boss volume pedal that didn't fit anymore. Does fit in the cases lid and I have a long enough cable to loop 3s return, so I can just patch it in there.

It's finally done! Not saying I won't be swapping anything out, but this layout has been under construction and planning for months now and it's finally complete. Thankfully everything fit exactly like I wanted it to, so the board is pretty much filled to capacity.

The AFB itself is setup with my two main sounds in A/B mode (clean and crunch), and then two separate presets for bass and acoustic. The boost switch pulls double duty, activating delay and boost, with one of the two turned "off" for each preset. At the moment, the bass preset is the only one with a boost set up, while the others have some variant of delay. Very, very happy with both the AFB and this rig.

    Hi all,

here is a little practice/rehearsal rig I built recently, as I got tired of lugging around my AxeFXII+MFC101 pedalboard in London public transports. It fits in the pocket of my guitar bag and sounds good enough for rehearsal or gig backup.

I made it with a 9mm ply covered in velcro. I use the Mooer Mod Factory to aminly add chorus to my cleans. I put a cheap tuner I got from Amazon which does the job (although I'll probably replace it with a Korg Pitchblack if and when I find a secondhand one on the cheap). The whole thing is housed in a cheap Ikea toiletry bag that I gutted to remove all the internal partitions.

I need a better power supply than a simple daisy chain cable as it can get quite noisy with high gain - my temp solution is 2 power adapters, one for the AFB and one for the daisy chain powering the rest of the board.

How's that zoom pedal working for ya? I've been thinking about getting one to pair it up with my AFB...Are you just using it for modulation effects?

I'm using a AA3 with a Zoom G5n in the loop. I use the Zoom for delay reverb and modulation which works pretty well. AA3 delivers the Amp and drives

SOUNDS LIKE DOG MEAT,,HOPE I FIGURE IT OUT. ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!!!
I USE MBRITT PRESETS AND LIKE THE WAY IT SOUNDS AT HOME IN STUDIO, BUT LIVE IT GETS CLIPPY AND LOST..
THE JHS PEDALS SOUND GREAT WITH THE AFB..

You are sending XLR to front of house? Perhaps bypassing the direct box and just take the XLR to FOH?
On the AFB is the mini output switch selected for XLR or BOTH?
I am guessing you checked the output levels going to the board? Maybe it's clipping at the board?
Not an expert on board layouts by any stretch. I also have an Eventide H9 and have a JHS XXX distortion lying around gathering dust since replacing the Peavey Classic tube amp. Maybe I should try the XXX with the AFB. Thanks!

As a rule of thumb, the wah/distortion/overdrive usually go before the AFB and the modulation & delay effects go after. My $0.02 worth.

Perhaps testing the AFB alone to the board and adding components one by one. If it can't be checked at the club then perhaps check to see if you can try it on a typical PA and see what happens?
    Hope this helps!

I had a similar problem first gig with my set up...then I realised I really had to knock down the output level on the amps a lot and knock up the fader on the mixer to compensate. My AFB ends up going into the h9. then stereo out to the desk. no need for a DI box usually.

In global settings you can reduce the VERY HOT output of the Amplifire by up to 24 db.

Man, I'm loving these FireBox boards...I could probably live with one of those. But for now, I tote this around. Still easier than lugging amps.

Hi! As simple as that! :) Zoom G3Xn for all effects except Amp+Cab sims which are done by Atomic Firebox. Portable versatile good sounding and damn cheap!

I have to say that the board with just the AA12, a mini exp, and min wah is awesome! And the Nano & Metro boards with the AFB are inspiring. But my preferred Amplifire is the 6! I have the AFB and AA12 too and I couldn't really get the flexibility I needed with the AFB and the AA12 was too big to fit with my other required pedals on my Pedaltrain Classic Jr. The magic pill for me is the AA6. Here is my gigging board.

    Shure GLX-D -> Lehle P-Split -> EHX B9 -> Octafuzz -> Amplifire 6 -> H9
    ................................................\-> Play Acoustic

The entire board is powered by Eventide PowerFactor 2.

    AA6:
Switch 1 = clean (Vox style amp)
Switch 2 = distortion (Marshall style amp)
Switch 3 = acoustic (no amp block, using acoustic IR)
Switch 4 = boost for clean and distortion presets.
    Switch 5 = nothing yet
    Switch 6 = nothing yet

    It's a standard Pedaltrain 2, 24" x 12.5",
I just put on a black plexi top to make it look a little cleaner.

Took off some pedals. Keeping it simple right now. Really digging the SLO model with this setup and my semi hollow body.
