    Hello.

The AA6 is in stock again at Europe and I bought one as soon as they arrived.

In the meantime and after reading the manual, I have a question:

Is it possible to change banks without using the footswitches?

I don't really need to change banks very often so I'd like to have the 6 footswitches available for other functions.

So... Could it be done with the Data Entry Knob or any other way?

    Thank you very much!

The AA6 actually doesn't do banking properly with foot switches.
This function was made for the AA12 which has dedicated banking foot switches.
You can setup OFFSETS and use the Date Entry knob to select a preset in the next bank.
So if you select preset 11 you'll be in the 10s bank and have access to presets 11-20
    with the offsets.
I've made a foot switch assignments doc that covers these setups that you can find here:

Here's a document on Tone Tips that will help you dial things in as well:

    Cheers,
    Jace

Any method that changes a preset also changes banks. The AA12 has extra ways to do this ... which gets to be confusing very fast.

The bank is determined by the last selected preset. Choose preset 5, you've chosen the bank with presets 1-10. Choose preset 73, and you have bank 71-80.

You can change presets by preset buttons, encoder, and midi PC commands. This works on the AA6 as well as AA12.

AFAIK, there are only two limitations with AA6 banks:
    • The AA12 has an extra way to change banks by using the bank up/down buttons. After you press the bank up/down, the next button (1-10) press on the device chooses the preset in that bank. You don't need to assign these button 1-10 to this feature (they behave normally except for right after a bank up/down)
    • The Offset1/6 button assignments (or the like) work, but the led does not toggle between red and green.

Wondering if the above "trick" would work to "press" the Bank Up/Down buttons via Midi (on an AA6). There are already Midi CC assignments for the +/- footswitches.

If it did work, you would only be able to press buttons 1-6 to select within the bank. Not bad though.

    That should work fine.

Hoping the AA can *also* use midi CC (e.g., 5-15) to trigger FS 0-9 as if they were the physical AA buttons to choose the bank after a bank up/down.

If that is true, the AA6 has more/less have full bank capability ... via midi control.

@Rayosytruenos Would you mind changing the title of this thread to something like "Using Banks on an AA6"? That would help others find this thread (pr realize that it of interest to them or not).

    Thank you all.

Those are very good news for me. It's exactly the way I "wanted" it to be.

I'm really happy with my AFBs (I have 2 of them) so I was willing to get the AA6 to expand the possibilities when playing live and to travel lighter than with the AX8.

    Title changed ;)

    Thanks again!
