    Hey,

Ive been using an amp processor for live gigs now and now considering the Amplifire 6 since it has 6 switches. Question is, are you able to select which ever amp and cab sim you want to use and still have access to the 6 switches for whatever 6 fx you want to use or do one of the switches have to be used for an amp??

    Thank you

Nope. But, if you're willing to put in the time to figure it out, you can assign two (sets of) amps or effects on a toggle to each button. So buttons 1-3 could have six patches, and buttons 4-6 could toggle groups of FX on and off.

For what you want to do, it sounds like you want the AA12.

Thanks JoeInOttawa!! If I could have a unit like this which would store my amp and cab setting and give me the capability of having 6 switches to use to toggle fXs on and off that would be perfect.
My configuration would be as follow
1 Drive 2 Dist 3 Delay 4 Comp 5 Gate 6 Reverb as I onlky use one amp and that configuration of fx.

Unless I misunderstood the question I thought you could do this, On each patch you can assign all 6 switches to separate effects. You would have to bend down and use the rotary switch to change patches so this isn't the best option. However if you only ever use one amp and cab then this would work. Also you can assign multiple effects to each switch if you wanted them on at the same time. Or set a switch to turn off an effect as it turns on another.

    cheers

    Al.

Yep, switching is one of the best things about the AA range. There's so much flexibility in these devices.

I use an expression pedal to bring in and out my "always on " Reverb as well. ;)

Which could free up another switch.
