I have Ampli-firebox that I picked up ued it has an issue: On more distorted patches the box is making a rasping static sound that seems to track with the flashing of the Bypass LED. This occurs even with no input signal to the box.

    Tshk-tshk-tshk-tshk...

Anyone else deal with this ? It's the first modeler I've used that sounds decent I'd hate to have to move on but it's not stage-worthy like it is.

Also I've tried several different P/S all rated over 250mA

    Scott,
There is a very good chance that this is an issue with the power supply.
Try using a True Tone 1-Spot or a GodLyke Power-all and do NOT daisy chain with other pedals.
    Let me know your results.

Are you running any pedals in front of the AFB?
If so, try it without them and see if the noise is still there.
Also, please try a different outlet in a different room
to see if this is a power issue.

Had a similar problem with my AFB pedalboard, powered by a single isolated power source from Harley Benton. After some troubleshooting it turned out to be Line6 M5's problem. Once I hooked that up to a separate power supply the noise disappeared.
