Introducing AmpliFireBox Mark II!
1. Is the modelling new / different from the current Amplifire range? (Next generation amp modeling engine including dynamic resonance control)
2. What are the new amp models?
3. Will 1. And 2. above be made available for AA6/12?
4. Is the USB port for audio or just a connection to the editor?
5. What else have you got planned ;-)
1. It's improved, but it's the same basic interface and amp models.
2. New versions of the Deluxe and the Top Boost.
3. Likely in the future, but no ETA at this time.
4. Just connection to the editor.
5. All kinds of fun stuff!
Where do these ship from? What does stock look like at the moment?
We're only shipping to the US and Canada at the moment.
We ship from Connecticut.
Plenty of stock.
Andertons UK will also have units available.
From my understanding I can store a total of three presets? Which can be accessible from the three-way toggle switch or from one of the footswitch?
Correct. You can actually set the foot switches up to access all three presets from the two foot switches if you wish.
Knob position locator is very welcome.
Headphones output is also a good thing (I don't need it, but it's good, anyway).
I must say I love the mark 1 look.
And I'd like to try that new engine side by side with the "old" one. I guess a new engine means new AA6/12 or new firmware soon. That would be very interesting, too.
Hmm... That Load Mode looks good, too. And 3 presets accessible with the footswitches!
That's my first impression. Now I have to take a look at those videos, but it's nice to see new things from Atomic and I'm sure the new AFB is a great device.
I've seen the video.
It looks great.
If I could ask for only one improvement for the Mark 1, it would be the Knob Position Locator. Beautiful.
Congrats, Jace/Tom/Marc -- looks great!
Here's a quick demo I recorded with the AFB MKII!
New Deluxe 2, Mark IV and SV TEE.
Jace, is this new firmware and editor compatible for us to use with the original Mark I AFB? Just trying to understand if it may be similar to AF3-3 button unit where it may or may not receive all features in an update due to hardware limitations? If so, that's understandable. Thanks.
Edit: Found in the other thread about future of AmpliFire stating there will be separate updates for each of the devices, AFB and AF3-6-12.
I have 1 question.
Can Mark I owners access the newer models thru firmware upgrade?
I am really interested in this. I had the original but sold it due to lack of presets. With three for this, I may get one. Only thing holding me back is if there's a AA6 version of this down the road..
We're going to try and see if we can make that happen. There may not be enough memory in the original AFB and the AF3 to accomplish this. But we should be able to get these in to the AF6 and AF12. We're hoping for a firmware upgrade for this by the end of summer.
We hope to get the new amp models in to the AF6 with an update by the end of summer. But there won't be an AF6 MKII any time in the near future.
I'll take that as an endorsement that the unannounced AA0 and AA8 will ship next week.
I'll take that to mean that AF6/12 can handle the updated firmware and models and that Atomic are working on porting it to those devices.
Which is great news! Can't wait.
I might just grab a AA6 then. I'm assuming the upgrade won't work on an AA3?
