Dear Members of the Atomic Amps forum,

I would be interested to know if the atomic amplifire could be connected directly to a guitar cabinet.
In particular, the setting would make use of the atomic' preamp & power amp model and exclude the cabinet model by passing the signal to a real guitar cabinet.
Would that perform sufficiently in terms of sound quality?

I would appreciate any feedback on that based on your relevant experience.

    Thank you.

    Thomas,
The Atomic AmpliFIre does not have a power amp built in to it.
So you would need to go from the AmpliFire out, to a power amp input
and then out to your speaker cabinet.
I highly recommend the Seymour Duncan Power Stage 170 power amp.
It will operate at 4 or 8 ohms so make sure your speaker cabinet
will operate at 4 or 8 ohms. Some cabinets are 16ohms and you'll need
a different power amp in that case.
Using the AmpliFire editor application go to the GLOBAL tab and in the lower
left you'll see where you can assign the CAB IR to the MAIN (1/4"), AUX (XLR) or both.
You'll want to use the MAIN outputs for going to the power amp, so set this parameter
to AUX only. This way the AUX output will have the CAB IR and you can send this
to a FOH mixer for live performance.
I'm currently using a 1x12 speaker cabinet with a Celestion Vintage 30 speaker
and the Power Stage 170 power amp and it sounds fantastic!
