Any update on how this is progressing... previous posts promised updates, even the product, long before now. My bandmate is looking for a travel rig and I told him to hold off to see how this sounds near the start of the year. It's come up again and I have nothing else to tell him.

They do have a Bassman amp model, which sounds like a Bassman to me. The Amplifire line, as a whole, seems far more geared toward guitar than bass. Because of that, I ended up buying a Zoom B3N, and have been very happy with how it sounds on bass. Its Bassman model...sounds rather similar, and while it lacks the limitless IR options, what is has is solid enough, and I've used it for everything from live music on Sundays to recording for an album.

While I like keeping things all in one box, and like the AA formfactor (the AA12 in my case), I would've liked to see more amp models for bass. Perhaps in the future, though it's been a little while since the last update.

We hope to have some updates for you on Bass Box soon.
Also, remember there is an Ampeg SVT bass amp in the AmpliFireBox
as well as the AF3, AF6 and AF12. I've been using it with OwnHammer Ampeg CAB IR files
    and it sounds fantastic!

Thanks Jace. Yeah, I really like the SVT model in my AA6. It takes my MXR Bass DI+ really well as well, sounds amazing with my basses. Hard to recommend to a bassist though as there's a lot in the box he'll never use, especially with your own bass modeller seemingly on the horizon.
