There’s always room to improve and new amps and effects to add.
Apparently you missed my point. I'll elaborate.
If you've spent time developing sounds with a modeler, you're happy with those sounds, and a FW update ruins them because of a programming error in an effect block - it's happened to the AF at least once - then the "new amps and effects" are of no value. In the specific case I reference, the error was not corrected for more than a year, during which time the only solution was to install the previous FW version. IOW, no "new amps and effects" because they came bundled with a dealbreaking bug.
In case this still isn't getting through, consider that there are worse things than having to make do with the present selection of amps and effects. There's still one AF block I use that is not fully functional, but I've found workarounds that serve my purposes. I'd love for that to be fixed. In fact, I'd much prefer that to getting any "new amps and effects."
How's that work going Jace?
Well, I guess here's the bug fix / feature release all Ampli-Firebox users have been waiting for :
other than the headphone jack i fail to see what's in the MK2 that couldn't be installed via firmware in the first one as well
It simply wasn't possible to implement all of these features with the original hardware.
Love it as we go from "Is Atomic alive" to "Why didn't you do ....?".
Take the never ending comments, suggestions as a sign of engagement!
Never mind my (deleted) previous post - I found the answers after having a coffee and actually paying attention.
Well, the launch has been a bit underwhelming so far.
It's expected after a 2 year hiatus.. hopefully they will deliver the much needed update to the existing products that owners are asking for a long time.
Not that it will restore my faith in atomic but at least its a sign of life.
One feature was not mentioned: The editor looks to sync in both directions. Press buttons and tweak knobs on the box and the editor stays in sync.
This is huge for me. YMMV.
i'm not 100% on this but i believe the original AFbox also had that
Two year hiatus?
How old is the Bass Box?
Read the thread title again and don't act like a mindless fanboy.
Is that message for me?
Tom has posted that we plan to have an update for the AF3, AF6 and AF12 with bug fixes and some new features by the end of summer.
The original AFB did this as well.
Still hoping the AA's (or next gen AA) let us use the device controls/buttons while the editor is connected.
Odd that the AFB has this while the AA doesn't, but lots of reasons why this is harder on the AA.
Топ трансляция на Ютуб, такого я еще не видел от Сереги:
They already do. You just need to take one additional step: select "File: Refresh Current Preset." The editor will upload and display the revised settings.
You are more patient and tolerant than me of extra steps, waits, and mental overhead. Even a keyboard accelerator to do the sync would be an improvement.
It may functionally equivalent, but by that argument no UI's would need to be improved. IMHO this is not seamless, realtime or, user friendly.
Can I look at the screen at any point and see the current settings of the device? Can I seamlessly go between pressing footswitches and tweaking knobs on the editor?
Perhaps we just agree to disagree on this point.
