"Scribe! - taketh down these new notes about our new firmware....
Press ctrl+f - the goto find/replace and replace all instances of 'beta' with 'final'.
Then press ctrl+s to saveth.
Next, issue the holy parchment to our finest carrier pigeon to taketh to King Tom for hith signature - then we can prepare the printing press to issue the new ledger to the couriers via horse."
Seriously though, which will come first - the new TOOL album, or Atomic firmware? Taking bets now...
My "patience muscle" has grown a lot the last few days. Information starvation and some serious "waiting training" has developed the strength and definition of the muscle to the point where it really becomes visible !
This is too much.
For very good products you have can not deceive users for more than a year
t's time to look for new hardware made by a serious company
I just wonder how many people will upgrade to the 6, when they know they wont be seeing any upgrades.
I wait firmware upgrade, but my Amplifire 12 is already a super pro gear. The only missing thing is a parallel mix function in the loop section for my Eventide H9. Really hope they listened and implemented with the upcoming firmware.
Now two weeks ago.
Something new? Any change in foresight? Any unforeseen that we can know?
We will wait....
Seriously, it's pretty simple. If you tell people you're going to release something in a specific time-frame, do so!
If you aren't going to make the deadline you set and announced, spend 5 seconds posting on your forum to tell people why/when!!!
the wait is a bit much
This 1000 times
Yep, it should be that easy. I'm not sure if anyone from Atomic (other than Jace maybe) reads these threads or not but they may want to read the article below. It all goes back to customer satisfaction.
Has it been less than a week?
So the Gregorian monks have still not finished hand painting the biblical release notes yet? Here's an idea to mental geniuses at AA, copy and paste the AFB notes since it is the same update. 2 reverbs and nothing thay you ask for in the hundreds of posts in the wishlist section.
Updated my Helix AGAIN today, a ton of effects added ability to snapshot, etc. After a year of ownership your handing out reverbs and a broken beta software? I really cannot fathom how badly this company has lost all focus on it's customer base. Enjoy the token update, maybe next Christmas they can provide a worthy one to their 3 remaing customers who have not left them for the helix lt or Boss gt1000, both have turned this product insignicant for the money.
The sound of Line 6 Helix is hopeless.
They can issue upgrade every month (more effects, more amplifiers, the same with the HD series)
This will not change the bad simulation.
I have never been an advocate of company Line 6 policy - quantity, not quality Maybe most users choose it? they feel pampered by updates
I do not see any sense in this.
Potential customer sees Amplifire 6 from NAMM and thinks "Oooh, interesting"
Ends up on this site
Reads this thread
Thinks, "Wow, those folks seem to be pretty tense about getting their firmware update"
Concludes that either i) Atomic don't care or ii) user community are a bunch of d*cks (I am NOT saying that we are by the way)
Either way they are unlikely to make a purchase
Atomic lose the sale :-(
Jace / Tom - why not just post an update on here.
"Sorry we said a week and didn't deliver. Sometimes sh*t happens. I know that's driving you all crazy.
The problem was xxxx. We're working on it harder than you would believe and will get the update out as soon as humanly possible."
..which I'm sure is the case anyway?!?
Updates are needed for improvements. For me AA3 is already good enough for its size and price. I'm also refreshing page several times a day waiting for an update. But remember this will not make the unit 200% better, not even 20%. So, the best way is to enjoy it as it is. And I guess none of you wants to get buggy firmware that will turn you AA3 into red bricks. Give them time to make it perfect. Just a little patience. Peace
Really, I don’t need any update.
My guitar through the AA3 sounds perfect to my ears.
On the other hand ....
When they promise something they have to deliver.
We went from an initial (crazy) promise of new amps every month to now it’s more than 1 year since they released a BETA version of their latest software.
And they only release updates when they have to include a new product in the software.
That’s not promising. Not promising at all.
And now we’re close to 3 weeks gone by since they promised an update in less than one week.
I love my AA3 and could see myself buying either an AA6 or 12 but these issues makes me think about looking at other modellers too.
