I tried the free US cab from 3SA and was so disappointed. I really want to like them, maybe ill grab this pack and try it through a plexi. I felt the US cab was super boomy and bassy and required a ton of tweaking

Do you generally like 3SA's IRs better than Ownhammer's? I feel so spoiled to have all these IR offerings, it's almost the proverbial candy store. :D

Im a big fan of Ownhammer myself, they sound great and require very little tweaking, I also like the reference sheet you get. Generally I just use the quick mixes because I dont have all day to try them all.

Redwirez is good but they just kind of give you ten million IR's without alot of reference, I found with redwirez you need to use there mixir to create your own mixes (which i just dont have time to do).

My experience again with 3SA wasnt great, but when I get home im gonna grab a few and give them another chance

Yeah i do. ,I've got IRs from Ownhammer, Redwirez, CabIR.eu and a few other randoms. The 3SAs I find are a bit clearer and crisper? More present? I don't know how to describe it but yeah, I like 'em better. [IMG]

Free is good :) I've bought a few IRs but I find myself coming back to my favorite freebies.

Here are a bunch of free IRs that I acquired a few years back: Google Drive link. They're in WAV format (unless otherwise indicated).

Happy to share. I'll try to pull up my favorite presets and share the cabs that work for me. I use 3rd party IRs on all my presets.

Man, I'm still a newbie at all this IR biz. I have an impulse response folder downloaded from 3SA. IRs are .wav files. Now, where I need a little education is: is what we're getting just different cab sims? And then we use these .wav files to apply our own amp and parameter settings in Amplifire? Do I need to use a plugin converter (e.g. Lepou)? Or am I supposed to be able to use a whole preset, like with cabs and amps built into it when I download from 3SA? I've successfully downloaded and installed .wav files, but I'm essentially only downloading cabs. Is that how it's supposed to work? Thanks for the feedback!

YUNoAmplifi Open the AA editor and click cabinet tab on the top ,inside there is a list of your cab. Click on one of the blocks that says 'Load User' and you'll be taken to your windows file manager, select your deisred .wav click open and it will upload
once you do that open your preferred preset and click on cabinet drop-down menu to insert the IR(cab)

Cool, thank you bioboy. That's what I've been doing (albeit on a Mac), but it's good to confirm that essentially, it's the cab that constitutes the whole IR concept. Thanks again!

yes of course the IR is literally the cab impulse response taken with spefic mic with specific position ,if you download an IR from 3SA you will find a couple of picture with mic position and mic/cab spec ;) don't forget that a good IR can make a huge difference on the same preset
